CONCEPT MODEL CREATION

Mapping out the existing graves and trees with empty (Void) spaces in between.

Cutting out the mapped Voids.

Folding Architecture: Creating a concept model that doesn't obstruct any graves or trees while respecting the surrounding context.

DESIGN CONCEPT - EMPTY CHAIR AS A 'VOID'

To symbolize the ‘empty chair’, the concept model maps out the empty spaces between the existing graves which is the metaphorical as well as a physical VOID that is experienced when someone passes away. The final design of the cemetery derived from the concept of VOID. The design complements the context without obstructing the existing graves or trees.
